WoW: Forever

First Aid

The most changed secondary skill in Forever, with 17 of its 31 recipes new. It is no longer just bandages: First Aid now cures poison, disease and bleeds, and makes healing potions.

WoW: Forever · Secondary · Updated September 30, 2026 · Beta build 1.60.1.70124 · Null Ossuary

Is First Aid worth it?

Yes, and materially more than in Classic. It costs no primary slot, and Forever turned it from "bandages for classes with no heal" into a genuine utility skill.

If your class has no dispel, you can now buy your way out of poison, disease and bleed effects off a free secondary skill. That was not possible in vanilla.

For several classes this is still your only self-heal for a long time: Warrior and Rogue especially. Take it at level 1 and keep it current.

What it makes

Bandages, as in Classic, topping out at the new Crystal Infused Bandage at skill 285, which heals 2500 over 10 seconds.

Cures, the new category and the reason to care:

SkillItemCuresIn combat?
80 / 130 / 215 / 300Anti-VenomPoison, up to level 25 / 35 / 45 / 65Yes
90 / 140 / 210 / 280Simple Poultice → Powerful PoulticeDiseaseNo
120 / 200 / 265Woolen Tourniquet → Surgical TourniquetBleedsNo

Anti-Venom works mid-fight; poultices and tourniquets do not, so plan those two lines for between pulls.

Healing potions, from Minor Healing Potion at skill 55 up to Major Healing Potion at 275, which restores 1050 to 1750.

Camp objects

First Aid places three, like every profession:

SkillObjectWhat it does
20First Aid Kit56 Stamina, but exclusive with Power Word: Fortitude, so it replaces a Priest's buff rather than adding to it
140Toxin StudyBlueprint
300Plague Doctor's LaboratoryBlueprint

What Forever changed

  • 31 recipes, 17 of them new: proportionally the largest overhaul of any profession.
  • Three whole categories that did not exist: curatives for poison, disease and bleeds; craftable healing potions; and camp objects.
  • Field Medicine, a Legacy perk in the Adventure tree, cuts the Recently Bandaged cooldown by 5 or 10 seconds across two ranks. Mind the exclusion: it is "ineffective in dungeons, raids, and battlegrounds." Solo and levelling only.

What is not known

Whether Alchemy still makes healing potions now that First Aid does. If it does not, that is a significant change to Alchemy's value and nobody has published it either way.

Trainer rank thresholds, as for every profession except Fishing.
